Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Pickup from Entebbe or your hotel in Kampala by your driver-guide, who will brief you for the journey ahead. Drive southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with two stopovers: one at the Equator for photos and local crafts, and another in Mbarara for lunch. Continue to Bwindi, home to mountain gorillas and other primates, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight at Ichombi Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Forest

After breakfast, collect your packed lunch from the lodge and drive to the trekking headquarters. Meet fellow trekkers and receive a detailed briefing from experienced park ranger guides. Trek through the forest to find the mountain gorillas, an experience that can last 2–8 hours depending on gorilla movements. You’ll spend one hour with the gorillas. Return to the lodge to relax or optionally visit the Batwa community to learn about their culture and traditions. Dinner and overnight at Ichombi Lodge.

Day 3: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive southwest toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through Fort Portal and the scenic Albertine Rift Valley. Stop for lunch at Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort Portal before continuing to the Mweya Peninsula in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight at a bush lodge.

Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Safari – Queen Elizabeth

Start the day with an early breakfast, followed by a morning game drive to spot wildlife such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hippos, antelope, warthogs, and more. Bird enthusiasts will enjoy the park’s rich diversity, including migratory species and Albertine Rift endemics. Enjoy lunch and later a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for incredible wildlife and scenic views. Dinner and overnight at a bush lodge.

Day 5: Morning Chimp Trek – Kyambura Gorge and Return to Entebbe

After breakfast, visit Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking, a 2–3 hour trek that also offers opportunities to see other primates, birds, butterflies, and wildlife. After the trek, transfer back to Entebbe airport or your hotel in Kampala for your onward journey.
