Volunteer requirements

  1. To join the Medical project in Tanzania you will need to be in your third or subsequent year of medical or nursing school, or a qualified professional. CNAs, paramedics and fully qualified EMTs are also be eligible to take part.
  2. Volunteers need to be 18 years or over to participate in this program. If you are under the age of 18.
  3. All volunteers are required to speak fluent English.

TEACHING IN MOSHI RAU PRIMARY SCHOOL

FRIENDS OF COMMUNITY Teaching project is a fantastic way for volunteers to assist in schools in Moshi where classes are often large and understaffed. Volunteers gain teaching experience by leading classes or helping local teachers with lessons in a range of school subjects. Alternatively, volunteers are also able to work in a school for students with disabilities who need a great deal of attention and support to thrive and succeed at school.

This program is ideal for

Volunteers who are passionate about teaching and you want to help increase access to education in under-resourced communities in Tanzania. As you will be volunteering with the support of the local team and placement staff, you don’t need to be a qualified teacher to participate on this project.

  • Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or friend who is over 18 to participate in this program
  • All volunteers must speak fluent English.

The school is facing poor environment, old buildings, limited number of teaches, and student walk far distance to reach to school. The students who are studying there are from the poorest families and so lacking the basic supports and special needs. The class sessions start from 8:00 am up to 4:00 pm, during their time at school they only have one meal per day and when they go back home, they can either eat again or not sometimes. If you also want to support the school with your donation, we would be very happy. Every amount is much needed, and your volunteering will be of much use to these school, sporting, teaching mathematics, science and English will help to brighten the future of these children’s. Other challenges are like lacks school teaching equipment like desks, books, pencils, pens, mathematical sets, ruler and tables to almost all students, limited learning equipment such as books, pencils, pens, ruler, eraser, mathematical set, sharpener and school bags, lastly but not list The school lack the cleaning equipment for their classes and the toilets like soaps, brooms, toilet brushes, the detergents, squeezers, mopes, rakes, slashes, hoes, iron folk hoe, digging shovel, spades, and the watering can.
