Day 1: Flight from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma and Boat Transfer to Gombe National Park

Today, your journey begins with a 5:40am flight from Dar es Salaam Airport (Terminal 2) to Kigoma. At 7:40am, you will arrive in Kigoma, meet our driver and transfer to Hilltop Hotel for breakfast. By 9:00am, you will depart on a one-hour boat ride to Gombe National Park. Upon arrival, check in and relax at your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch and leisure time—swim at the beach or simply unwind. At 3:00pm, set out on a 30-minute hike to a beautiful waterfall, spotting primates along the way. Take a refreshing swim before returning to the lodge. If you return early, you can enjoy optional kayaking and watch a stunning sunset over the water. Dinner and overnight at Mbalimbali Lodge

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Gombe National Park and Boat Ride to Kigoma City

At 7:00am, enjoy breakfast at your lodge before heading to the park headquarters for registration. You will be assigned a guide who will accompany you on your chimpanzee trekking experience. As you walk through the dense forest, be prepared for some steep slopes—hiking gear is recommended. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the famous chimpanzee community that Jane Goodall has studied since 1960. Along the way, you may also encounter other primates, birds, insects and unique plant species. The trek can take between four and six hours, with a 100% chance of spotting chimpanzees. The park’s steep ridges and valleys make for an adventurous and rewarding experience, so proper hiking gear is advised.

In the afternoon, after descending, return to your lodge for a short rest before enjoying a delicious lunch. You will then take a boat ride back to Kigoma town

Day 3: Flight from Kigoma to Dar es Salaam

Wake up to a stunning view of Lake Tanganyika and enjoy breakfast at 6:00am. Afterward, our driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Kigoma Airport for your 8:30am flight to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival at 10:40am, you will be met by our driver for a smooth transfer to your hotel in Dar es Salaam.
