You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel in Arusha early in the morning and driven to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. The day will be spent on a full-day game drive inside this natural wonder, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, and one of the rare places on earth where people and wildlife live side by side in harmony.

Along the way, you may choose to visit a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro Highlands, where you’ll meet elders, warriors, women, and children, gaining a deeper insight into the traditions, beliefs, and way of life of Tanzania’s last nomadic tribe.

The crater floor, sustained by a permanent water supply, offers some of the best game viewing in Africa. Here, you’ll have the chance to spot the endangered black rhino, herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, and gazelle, as well as elephants with impressive tusks. Predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs roam freely, while hyenas, jackals, and wild dogs are often seen scavenging. Bird enthusiasts will also be delighted, as more than 500 species have been recorded within the crater.
